donate your excess airline miles to a worthy cause

donate your excess airline miles to a worthy cause

Miles donated to Make-A-Wish help make it possible for terminally ill children to travel to their wish destination. The average number of miles needed for one domestic round-trip ticket is 50,000, but as few as 1,000 miles can be donated from participating airlines: Delta, United, and US Airways. More than 70 percent of all wishes involve air travel for the child and their family, so donating unused or soon-to-expire miles can have a profound impact. Once donated, miles do not expire.
Currently, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® does not have formal relationships with airlines not listed above; however, Make-A-Wish® chapters can use transferable airline vouchers or tickets on a case-by-case basis. To learn more, contact your local chapter.

A bit Seinfeld-esque, this hilarious demonstration by Mark Gungor had me laughing so hard I teared.  Allow 10 minutes to watch it all, or you will be very frustrated.  Better yet, pour some wine and watch with your partner.  Hopefully, you will exit laughing and feeling much better.

waiter slang

Hash-house slang has intrigued me ever since I learned that a non-fat decaf cappuccino is referred to as a "why bother."  Though it has a colorful history dating back to the 1850s, usage is dying out because so are coffee shops and diners.  Maybe some of the terms were overheard by customers who then decided to cancel their order (I think I'd give it a second thought if I ordered hash and heard the waiter holler out "clean up the kitchen"!)  How many of these have you heard of? . . .

This amazing 101-year-old lady drives an 81-year-old car and changes the oil and spark plugs herself! Notice at the very end when she steps on a little red towel to get into the car so she won't dirty the running board, then picks it up and puts it in the car so she can use it when she gets out!
