photo gallery of old-time store-front kiddie rides
During my many visits to Jackson Heights in Queens, New York, I’ve discovered some wonderful old-time kiddie rides outside in front of shops. They wait patiently for someone to insert a few quarters for a ride. Sometimes it is a very long wait. The rides include horses, a dinosaur, and an elephant.
See the photo gallery.
I’ve also discovered that these artifacts from the past still exist in other neighborhoods, too, and in many other places around the world. So I also have a yellow elephant from Manhattan’s Chinatown, a taxi from the Santa Monica Pier in Southern California, and a quarter horse from Amarillo, Texas.
Do some still exist in your neighborhood, too?
